Jose was born in Laredo, Texas and raised in Woodland, California for the majority of his childhood and adult life. His parents sent him to a private school (Woodland Christian School) on a scholarship basis. There Jose developed the rigorous work ethic and determination that caused him to graduate Woodland Senior High School with honors . Jose learned throughout those years to play the alto saxophone at the highest of levels and compete as an excellent athlete in multiple sports which include baseball, football and soccer where he earned an All-Delta League award. However, it was his childhood dream at the age of eight years old when “Joey” realized he wanted to grow up and be an architect. This dream inspired him to be accepted into the impacted major of Architecture at Cal Poly SLO in 1991. Soon after Jose married his wife Sandy. They have been happily married for over 20 years. Jose is also the father of two sons.
Jose’s education of architecture was highlighted by learning for a full year from his Senior Design Laboratory Professor Larry Loh (a student of the famous Canadian architect Arthur Erickson). The concentration of the laboratory was design of hospitals, health care buildings, hospices, and airports. Jose also spent the holidays in the early nineties interning for a few local Sacramento firms.
Literally, the next day after graduation Jose entered the architectural workforce full-time back in Sacramento, Ca. where he worked for various architectural firms such as CSHQA, Perkins Williams & Cotterill Architects, and Vitae Architecture. The projects Jose worked on varied in sizes from as small as a private residence to as large as a downtown skyscraper. In 2008, he decided to venture into the world of construction as a general contractor for Sisler and Sisler Construction, Inc. There he became the Director of Design and learned first-hand about construction for commercial, office, manufacturing, hospitality, industrial, and multi-family projects he had been designing for fifteen years! All his past experience has led him to be the co-founder of the firm of Pasion & Enriquez Architecture, Inc.
